For over thirty-five years, our charming store has long been considered a “must see” by locals and tourists alike. Get a peek at our newest seasonal wonders as you step into a 200-year old building; you’ll find two floors with thoughtfully handpicked items for every holiday and special occasion.

Specializing in hard-to-find, unique items, our offerings include European hand-blown glass, locally-designed souvenirs, Italian nativity scenes, snow-covered village houses, German collectibles as well as angels, Santas and snowmen galore! We have every type of ornament you could possibly imagine but that’s not all…. The Urban Attic stocks a wide selection of everyday gifts, books and accessories plus a fun, funky wine selection. About the Shop Owner

Cheri Hennessy and Fay Hobbs-Carter are sisters that carry on the family legacy of owning a Christmas store. Born and raised in Northern Virginia, they both love being shopkeepers. They have 5 grown-up kids between them who have all worked at the Attic at some point in their careers. Fay is currently splitting her time between Alexandria and Cairo, Egypt. Cheri is top dog for a few years now. The sisters love wine, good books, great food and friends. They see the store as an extension of their homes and want to welcome you to their fun, funky world of Christmas and gifts.
