All Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) stores will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 26, in observance of Thanksgiving. Stores will operate normal hours the Wednesday prior to the holiday (Nov. 25) to accommodate the increase in customer purchases for family gatherings during the extended weekend.
Stores will reopen on Black Friday (Nov. 27)—the traditional kickoff to the holiday shopping season—and offer a 10 percent discount off any purchase totaling between $50 and $74.99, and a 15 percent discount off any purchase totaling at least $75.

The Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) is a major source of revenue for the commonwealth, contributing more than $1.8 billion to the general fund in the last five years. The agency currently operates 353 state stores. Its Bureau of Law Enforcement oversees more than 16, 000 ABC licensed establishments while the Hearings and Appeals Division considers more than 700 cases each year.
